《PMIDP - Pop Music Interdisciplinary Development Project》

Call for Papers Notice
Popular music is one of the most important cultureal industries in Taiwan and an important medium through which the international society gains better knowledge Taiwan.The 2018 International Interdisciplinary Symposium on the Literature and Communication of Pop Music Industry explores the history and development trends of Taiwanese pop music with the aim to draw on the collective wisdom of scholars, musicians, and the general public in determining the subjectivity and development direction of Taiwanese pop music. These joint efforts are anticipated to inspire innovation, creation, and entrepreneurial opportunities in Taiwanese pop music industry.

VI. Paper Requirements
The research topic must address one of the following four fields :
1. Music and Literature—The Literary Music Of Li Lin Qiu
2. Music City—The Coexistence Of A City And Its Music
3. The Value of Music— The Tangible and Intangible Aspects Of The Culture
4. Music Revolution—The Innovation Of The Industry And The Market

The focus and goal of the paper are the positioning and operation of Taiwanese pop music under the current macro environment. Researchers around the world may select a paper topic based on their respective fields of expertise.

(I) Phase 1 : Title and abstract submission and assessment
  ■ Title: Be clear and succinct while fully expressing the important concepts of the paper. Please submit both Chinese
   and English titles in the aforementioned order.
  ■ Abstract: Exercise brevity and concision in describing the most important contents of your paper. Regardless of the
   languages used to complete the paper, submit both a Chinese and an English abstract within 500 words respectively.
   Place your English abstract after your Chinese abstract.
  ■ Please submit the title and abstract of your paper in a PDF file format (within 25M) through the submission system
   at http://apc.ntnu.edu.tw/ntnumusic/form.php.
  ■ Deadline for submissions: February 8, 2018.
  ■ Date of assessment: The first author will be notified of assessment results by email and phone on February 13,
   2018; the results will also be available on the conference website.

(II) Phase 2 : Full paper submission and assessment
  ■ Deadline for submissions: Those who passed the "Title and abstract submission and assessment”, please upload
   your full paper in PDF format (may not exceed 25M) to the paper submission system at
   http://apc.ntnu.edu.tw/ntnumusic/form.php before March 25, 2018. The word counts of the paper should be within 20,000 words.
  ■ Please ensure your paper is submitted in the required format of this conference; see attachment for details.
  ■ We expect to invite and accept 12 to 16 papers in total.
  ■ All papers must be fully original and have neither been previously published nor simultaneously submitted to any
   other journal or conference; the author(s) shall be held solely liable for compliance with academic ethics and
   integrity.

  ■ Date of assessment: The first author will be notified of assessment results by email and phone on March 31,
   2018; results will also be available on the conference website.
