Popular music is one of the most important culture industries in Taiwan and an important medium through which the international society gains knowledge of the nation. The 2018 International Interdisciplinary Symposium (PMIDP) explores the history and development trends of Taiwan's popular music with the aim to draw on the collective wisdom of scholars, musicians, and the general public in determining the subjectivity and development direction of Taiwan's popular music. These joint efforts are anticipated to inspire innovation, creation, and entrepreneurial opportunities in Taiwan's popular music industry.
