Popular Music is one of Taiwan’s most important cultural industries and serves as a crucial medium for Taiwan to gain recognition from the international community. Pop Music Interdisciplinary Development Project (PMIDP) was founded in 2018. Since its launch in 2018, the PMIDP International Academic Conference related activities have been successfully held for five straight years. This year, we will continue in the same spirit and organize 2023 PMIDP International Academic Conference for the sixth time. The aim of this year’s conference is to integrate the history and development trends of Taiwan’s popular music with modern technological advancements such as Block Chain technology, NFTs, Metaverse and AI technology. Through the incorporation of these topics along with mainstream media marketing and intellectual property management, we attempt to explore the past, present and future visions of global music industry. 2023 PMIDP International Academic Conference will continue its tradition of gathering experts, scholars, industry professionals and the general public from both domestic and international backgrounds. We will come together with the goal of contributing to the growth and future of Taiwan’s popular music industry. Our purpose is to nurture a broader spectrum of possibilities for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial ventures, thereby expanding the horizons of Taiwan’s popular music industry.

Considering the broader context and management of the music industry in Taiwan with the current environment, authors worldwide are encouraged to choose research topics that align with their individual areas of expertise.
